Liu Kuo-sung (b. 1932) is a Taiwanese artist. An instrumental figure in the history of modern Chinese painting, he founded the Fifth Moon Group (五月画会) in 1956, which went on to rejuvenate traditional ink painting by incorporating Western elements. Liu has held more than ninety solo exhibitions around the world and been collected by institutions such as the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University and the Palace Museum, Beijing.
